Los Angeles Comic Con 2022

I want to talk about this year's LA Comic Con, since it was a truly fantastic weekend for me. This will be long, so I don't expect anyone to read it. Lol Even so.

Friday started with seeing my friend Alyson, who I'd be seeing a couple times a day through the weekend. I gave her a Christmas gift from me and one from my mom. Then I made my way over to some comic creators. I went to see Donny Cates, first. He has a fake cult that I'm part of. I was wearing the shirt and pin, and carrying the membership card in my wallet. Because of this, he was like "All of that paid off because the autograph is on the house." He and I chatted a bit. He's such a nice guy! Then I went to see Meghan Fitzmartin, writer of the current Tim Drake comic. I got some autographs and talked about comics with her. I expressed why I love her current series, which she appreciated. Next to her was Tini Howard, a comic writer who I have a major crush on. We talked about comics for several minutes. I could talk with her for hours. She really gets what I mean when talking about Madrox (who she's written very well.) I met Kevin Grevioux, he was a let down but didn't tarnish Friday's fun. I went and met some of the cast of Avatar the Last Airbender, though one of them ran out of the poster I wanted, so I had to go the next day when she restocked. I ran into my friend Amber on the way out.

Saturday began with getting aforementioned poster. Then, I rushed to get an autograph from Steve from Blues Clues. The website didn't say that he was only doing pre-paid autographs, so I wasn't able to get it. Somehow, I looked on the bright side and was happy with saving the money and time. I met up with my friend Dani, who I wasn't aware was going to be there until they texted me earlier that morning, and we hung out. We ran into the streamer called Strawburry17. She and I chatted for a bit. She's so nice! Me and Dani eventually made our way to see some comic creators. We chatted with Meghan Fitzmartin once again. While doing that, Jessica Clemens from New Rockstars walked by and I met her and got a picture with her. We headed to see Melissa Flores, writer of the current Power Rangers comic and The Dead Lucky. I chatted with her about her work, since they're my two favorite ongoing titles at the moment. She insisted on giving me an autograph for free but she did that at Morphicon too so I insisted on tipping her. We then went over and chatted with Fabrice Sapolski, co-creator of Spider-Man Noir. He was grateful that I got him to sign a comic he self-published instead of something from Marvel (who screwed him over). We met Gerry Duggan, writer of Marauders, and chatted about his work. He keeps pushing off opportunities to meet Chris Claremont until after he's done writing X titles. I may have convinced him to not put it off, I told him how lucky I was to meet Len Wein when I did (since Len died a couple of years later.) Me and Dani continued to hang out, and ran into my friend Amber on the way out (just as I did the day before.)

Sunday started with me going to a New Rockstars (my favorite YouTube channel) panel. I got a selfie with a couple of the people from it, before the panel. During the panel, the panelists picked people from the crowd to play trivia for so the winner can get a prize. He didn't win but he had some hilarious answers. I got my picture taken with the rest of the people from New Rockstars who were there, except for one. I went to Fabrice Sapolski again and got a picture with him, while I was cosplaying Spider-Man Noir. I met up with Dani again and went to get my picture taken for free by a professional photographer I really like. We walked over to see Alyson and saw some Spider-Man Noir cosplayers along the way who I got my picture with. One even asked ME for a picture, which is always great. My cosplay was very well-recieved by people, and that made me feel great. Anyway, when we got to Alyson's booth, my friends Mari and Danny were there. I had no idea they were gonna be there. It was so cool to see them! After chilling with them and Alyson, me and Dani went back to the main floor to browse. I took off my mask and coat for the rest of the day and was just casual. I saw Evil Ted, one of the most famous foamsmiths ever, and got a selfie with him. Soon, I saw a familiar face and walked closer. I was like "you look familiar. Are you who I think you are?" It was Trevor from Mythical Kitchen (a YouTube channel me and my family love.) I chatted with him and got a selfie. Me and Dani started to head to the exit, since I had to leave soon. On my way there, I ran into the last member of the New Rockstars who was there who I hadn't gotten a photo with. We talked for a couple of minutes and he even got me to think about comic book movies differently. It was such a cool moment! I headed out. Said goodbye to Alyson and then Dani. As I was leaving, I got a street dog for $5 (people had been selling them for more than that out front, but this guy was selling them for the normal price out back.) It was a delicious way to end the weekend.

With all the casual run-ins, fun conversations, friendly meet-ups, and compliments on my cosplay, it was probably my most awesome convention experience thus far. I've been to several cons (this was my 6th this year), so that's saying a lot.
