Iceland Trip Day 3 - In Which Our Hero Stands Between Continents

Day 3 - September 29

I woke up in a depression and didn't feel like getting ready for today's adventure, but managed to force myself off my bed. I waited for the bus but dropped my bus ticket when I was getting on. Thankfully, some guy caught it and handed it to me.  He saved me over $3, by doing that.

I, soon, managed to get a clearer head. My was especially clear when I got on the tour bus and found a seat with enough legroom. And so my first journey began. I walked through the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. I legit walked between two continents! After that, we drove through to see fields and lakes. We stopped at a waterfall and it started snowing and sleeting....in September!

Eventually, we made an extra stop that was a pure delight. It was a farm. There was a sheepdog who was insanely friendly and made sure to greet all of the guests. There were two horses who were also friendly and loved attention. From there, we made our way to Geysir to see some hot springs. Ice came from the sky, while boiling water came up from the ground. It really is the land of fire and ice.

On this adventure, I met some wonderful people. Two couples were on their honeymoons. A guy named Tanakas from LA, who is traveling around some amazing places. He and I helped each other take photos. Our group was excellent and felt kinda close-knit. The tour guide was funny, informative, and friendly. She even talked about some of my all-time favorite folklore: the Yule Lads!

Everything was going well until I left my camera on the tour bus. That's right! Instead of giving my seat a look before leaving, I assumed I had everything on me. I had my coat and backpack, so I assumed that I was good to go. I didn't think about the fact that I had a camera around my neck for most of the day and forgot to put it back on after getting someone else to take a picture for me.

I called the tour bus company and told them. They said they'd be in touch, and they were. Within an hour, they delivered it to me. I had apparently left my hat in there, too, but hadn't realized it. With that, I settled down for the night.
