My Take on Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue

The season begins with a few veteran rangers working in what looks to be a military base. Suddenly, there is an alarm. An image of batlings attacking the city would appear on a screen. Jason rushes into the room and tells them to activate Operation Lightspeed. Soldiers are deployed to the city. Meanwhile, men in black suits show up at a firehouse, an ER, a Naval Base, an Air Force Base, and a local FEMA headquarters. Soon, five people are escorted into the base and left with Jason. Jason informs them that they have been selected, out of many candidates, to be the new Power Rangers. They get their morphers and go into battle. The following five episodes would give back-story to the rangers.

Carter (who would have a more demanding presence) is a firefighter who has gotten many awards for his service. He saved some diplomats from a burning building and even used a firehose to take out some criminals, while the police were on their way. ((Those things are VERY powerful, afterall.))

Dana would be a doctor who works in the ER. She has been said to be the fastest, steadiest scalpel in the world. She has been known to go on runs with EMTs to large disasters, just to give them an extra hand.

Chad is a sailor who saved the entire crew of a broken submarine. He also helped defeat some pirates who were attempting to take over a Naval ship.

Joel is a surveilance pilot who was commended for his work in locating the headquarters of a terrorist cell. Also, there was a time when he was forced to do recon (in-person) when his plane went down, in the desert. This allowed him to bring more war criminals in.

Kelsey is part of a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue task force. She has rescued a lot of people from a variety of disasters. One thing that she has done is protect a few people from a falling wall, by propping it up with anything that she could find around her. This almost got her crushed.

Anyway, the series would mention that Lightspeed Rescue is the product of a few former rangers working with the government. They wanted to ensure that any new threats could be taken care of. They base their technology on KO-35 technology, as well as some things that were salvaged from the destroyed command center. Jason is the field director of the operation. Billy is in charge of the tech. Bulk and Skull actually work with Billy, by testing the tech (and inevitably causing some humorous moments of slapstick comedy).

Eventually, the story gets to a story arc where Jason begins to question his superiors. This is the result of him obeying their direct orders, and almost getting the rangers killed. This causes him to completely ignore them, and create a ranger of his own. Seeing as he can no longer have ranger powers, he gives the powers to TJ. TJ becomes the titanium ranger. After several battles, he realizes that the powers are killing him. Billy checks the morpher and discovers that it has been messed with. This leads Jason to investigate the situation. He discovers that one of his superiors is actually a demon (Diabolico), in disguise. Jason is almost killed, when confronting Diabolico. However, he is saved by Andros who arrives from out of nowhere. Andros is never completely up-front with anyone about how he survived and how he got back. They just let it slide and decide that he's probably got a severe case of PTSD and would rather not talk about it.

TJ is safe and starts to go back into the field, alongside the rangers. They are confronted by a new demon, named Olympius. They are overpowered by his enhanced monsters, and so are given the battle boosters and the Omega Megazord. TJ is given the Max Solarzord. These new powers stop the enhanced monsters.

One night, Andros decides to go with TJ into space to recharge the Max Solarzord (since it needs to be closer to the sun to recharge). When the Max Solarzord returns, it rushes toward the city and crashes, causing tons of damage. As it crashes, the Titanium Ranger jumps out and begins to attack civilians. The rangers rush out, to save the city. In an intense battle (while using their new V-Lancers) the visor of the Titanium Ranger's helmet is blasted open, revealing red eyes. The ranger takes his helmet off, revealing Andros. Andros, then, transforms into Olympius and continues to attack the rangers. He overpowers them, and heads to the base. There, he is confronted by several veteran rangers (including the other living Space Rangers). He decides to tell them how Andros survived. Apparently, Olympius was a prisoner of the Machine Empire. He and Andros were both dying. He fused with Andros and layed dormant until the right time to strike. As he finishes his story, Carter thrusts his V-Lancer into Olympius and impales him, from behind. Thus: Olympius is destroyed.

The series ends with TJ stumbling out of the Max Solarzord asking what he missed.
